Deejo x tin-tin: THE COLLABORATION THAT INKS THE MOST TATTOOED OF KNIVES WITH THE MOST CUTTING EDGE OF TATTOO ARTISTS.

01/05/2023

What do Beyoncé, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Yannick Noah, Lio, Florent Pagny, Marc Jacobs, Kad Merad and Deejo have in common? Each has put themselves into the expert hands of Tin-Tin, a tattoo artist who needs no introduction.

Famous for the exceptional quality of his creations and having raised tattooing to the rank of a major art (in particular through the «Planétarium» which he organizes each year in Paris) in May 2023 Tin-Tin will inaugurate with Deejo an exclusive collection that for six months will illuminate the blades of the most tattooed of knives.

The French cutlery brand is proud of this collaboration which underscores more than ever its admiration for this ancient art which it holds dear. If since its launch in 2014 Deejo has never ceased to closely follow the trends inspired by tattoo artists around the world, its knives have never been in better hands. Tin-Tin is one who knew well how to ride the democratization of this primitive art now become popular, and ‘the bear of Pigalle’, ‘the tenor of the epidermis’, remains no less faithful to the requirement of perfection.

Exclusive tattoo "The snake"

Tin- Tin also honours us with an exclusive tattoo to adorn the blade of our pocket models, which we take great pleasure in personalizing, on the MyDeejo online configurator or at the Deejo atelier (6 rue des filles du Calvaire 75003 Paris).

This fine blade engraved with a snake can also be found throughout this time in its most beautiful version, all in black titanium set and adorned with a splendid handle plate in olive wood, in Tatouage Magazine, the instigator of this magnificent collaboration (see insert), as well as with the many resellers of Deejo knives around the world.

Set of 6 Deejo steak knives "dragon"

The proof is in the images with this superb dragon that Tin-Tin delights to offer for Deejo on the blades of a set of 6 steak knives, images that play magnificently within the precise framing of the medium in richness and detail.

A Deejo imagined by Tin-Tin does not happen every day: but you can enjoy it forever.

The little story of tattooing

For a long time on the periphery of Western culture, tattooing is no longer the sole purview of the sailors and the sacred. Practiced throughout time and all over the world, the art of tattooing (from the Polynesian Tatau) dates back to 1300 BCE, in which colouring the skin marked the important stages of life.

In the Middle Ages and until the end of the 19th century, tattooing, considered a pagan practice, was banned by the Church everywhere in Europe. It then became the tradition of mariners as well as prisoners, for the latter in particular in Russia where inmates did not hesitate

The tattoo in the Western world, long reserved for those at society’s margins, including gangs and bad boys, established itself in the 1980s in pop culture, promoted by rock stars, punk and rap music.

Tatouage magazine

This collaboration would not have been possible without Tatouage Magazine and its two founders, friends and associates, Jérôme Pierrat and Mikael de Poissy, who proposed to Deejo to bring together 12 of the most famous tattoo artists in the world over the next two years: to create an exclusive collection that will see the talent of each of these extraordinary artists displayed every two months on the blades of Deejo knives. Deejo and Tatouage magazine offer you a rendezvous in each issue to discover the behind-the-scenes of this exceptional collection.
